MAK-16 has been started and is growing!
At the urging of Mary, another Invitee, I have initiated a Facebook Group - - - "MAK-16" which has already attracted some PCVs presently in Macedonia in addition to some Invitees.
To get to the Facebook Group page, highlight the following link, then right-click on it and open the link.

Sounds like a Soviet rifle.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on receiving your invitation, Lew. We recently found out there will be no new volunteers coming to Samoa this year, so knew you wouldn't be joining us here. Macedonia should be fascinating. Fasten your seat belt - you're in for an adventure. PC really is the hardest job you'll ever love!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog and can only hope that I will have successes similar to yours when it comes to learning a new language, becoming acculturated and functioning productively as a trusted member of a host community. So sad to learn that volunteers won't be sent to Samoa this year. I understand that there are significant cutbacks occurring throughout the Peace Corps. How unfortunate for the countries served, and the others in need.
P.S. - - - Because you have read my blog, your location in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean was recorded on the 'ClustrMaps' Widget I have on my blog site. Your spot on my word map is one of the few dots scattered around the world that I can identify with a specific person.
